What you're referring to is one of the very basics of visual reading. A big part of it is that the functions you have can make your face appear in certain ways, so of course if there is any truth to VR when it comes to this, there is a correlation. And I think using an EEG to scientifically test this theory has already been spoken about.

If you take Kanye West, for example--he's an unseelie FiSe which makes him look quite grumpy--and then pair that Fi tension with his Ni-Se glaring-looking eyes and you've got a person who doesn't appear to be the most approachable and warm aka another person victim of the resting bitch face epidemic.

Kristen Stewart is a Ti(Se) dominant, btw, and Erifrail wrote a bit in the CT book about how a Ti dominant's appearance can come across to others but I can't share any of that (you'll have to read it yourself if you haven't already).

As for Anna Kendrick, she's probably a TeSi but in her case, I think it's mainly her facial structure that's at fault; I mean, you can tell that just by looking at her face.

All in all, it seems very obvious to me that the case of "resting bitch face" mainly has to do with facial structure and cognitive functions (and their "shade", so to speak. For instance, seelie Fi vs. unseelie Fi).

Yes, I believe there might be corelations with CT. I agree with elly  in that there's a corelation between that 'look' and unseeliness. 

I personally find that Pe-leads (for proactive exploration being the guidance there - which makes a person more 'excitable', and that results in 'expressive' faces, full of perk-ups, as we know, and "amused-looking", when Ne leads, as Auburn pointed out in the past with the 'Ne amused eyes signal'. I've been told many times that my face is extremely expressive and transparent, and I've seen that pattern in many NeFi - and since very unseelie NeFi's are not super common, I actually can't even recall one now, that could also be a variable) will be less likely to that, but when Se is leading, that can happen, even if it is rare, I think, if accompanied by very unseelie Fi or very dark Fe, but I don't have famous examples now, and I think I can think of two SeTi I've known irl, only, both with dark Fe. I've seen that face in some unseelie shades of FiSe irl, like a member of my family.
