If you are new to this website and theory, you may be wondering "Where do I start?"
There are a lot of angles to approach the theory from, but here is my take on the quickest way to become familiar with the material:
1: The Cognitive Type Book
For those deeply interested in the topic, the best place to start is with a copy of the book. That will familiarize you with the basics of the theory and provide instructions for proper reading methods.

You can also find many parts of the book available online, such as:
2: Combine the Book with the Website Celebrities
But the book alone needs to be understood in the context of real videos. Our website hosts about 100 celebrities (and growing) each with clear videos of their mannerisms. When you read the book and chapters, do so with your computer right next to you, and go back and forth between the two. If an actor is referenced, look for that actor in the Celebrity section of our website, to get a sense of the signals being described.

3. Watch the Video Course
Currently there is a video course airing for learning how to read type. Each week we'll have one or two new videos describing how to tell the differences between the 16 types in a real-world setting.

4: Read the Book Elaborations mini series
To go along with the book, I am also working on an ever-expanding series of threads where I take concepts described in the book and elaborate on them more casually alongside videos and graphics. Here is the list at present:
5. Real World Practice
At this point, much of the mentioned material will have brought to mind individuals and personalities that you've encountered in your own life. And this is a great arena to pursue knowledge of CT because the reality of each type is not only what the signals evidence, but all the hundreds of nuances and reactions which stem from type, yet are only made available through prolonged exposure to people.
In becoming a reader, you ground your understanding in tangible examples and can better identify types based on psychology. After CT points you to the reality of a friend/coworker's type, everything else you learn about them becomes knowledge of that type (and of those four functions); useful for future readings.
