FeNi Jordan B. Peterson (possibly FeNi-Ti) (he has conscious Fe,Ni,Ti)
0:00-3:31
In this video Peterson beautifully describes the conflict between his own Fe and polar Ti. In a similar way to rapper Logic, he's describing the effects of a lower Ti process yanking the psyche into analysis of oneself. In this case for accuracy and rational integrity; speak no untruth. As we've often seen, it's the Ji function that operates as a sort of "conscience" in the psyche, checking for impurities of thought/mind -- and is a self-regulated judgment independent of context. And in all Fe/Ti users, Ti operates as a regulator of rhetoric (Fe) to be appropriately aligned to one's best understandings.
Thoughts on the polar function and individuation?
I've seen it happen with polar Fe, where it calls upon us to realize our full self. Especially if it is a judging function, the polar appears first and "What We Are Not But..." yet could be, or are called to be. In a way, it's what we are in latent form. And so when the polar interjects, the psyche fragments itself. Two voices, or passions/drives, take center stage.
The central drama of the psyche begins. If one succeeds in integrating the polar, one becomes a more whole person. But it will appear Dark, necessarily, because it's suppressed. Peterson's experience of Ti is more critical in this biting way. I have seen a similar effect for NiFe's with their Ti. It's usually a pessimistic and deconstructive voice. Bonus video; Peterson describes this experience even more fully in the prologue of his book:
As Jung first made note of, the "inferior" function is by default associated with the unconscious. And the unconscious is the primordial realm where other latent content resides. And all truly repressed processes (including cognitive functions) take on a character that matches the landscape of a person's personal unconscious.
Admittedly my experience is limited on this subject, but I find it curious to hear Peterson describe what shape his Ti took as it was emerging out of him.
