Those 'terrorist' prank videos make me cringe so much. Ugh... Pretending to blow people up just isn't very funny. I can laugh along with the shampoo one, but still, it makes me feel uncomfortable.
Yeah, like I said, there are two kinds of people: people who react like you and people who die of laughter watching these videos. I'm embarrassed to say I belong in the latter. That's why I know about these guys. These vids came up on my facebook TL and I spent all that afternoon laughing while rewatching it. I wonder if this kind/sense of humor says/has something to do with type.
Out of curiosity, Kahawa , do you find this video funny or uncomfortable?
One of my favorite humans, TiSe Elon Musk, has an inner prankster in him too Something his fans have come to know over the years.
He named his first three large production cars S.3.X
With the fourth coming car being the Model Y, which together spells:
(how cool is that?)
At other times he's made jokes on Twitter... (of a sort of daring/risky nature) only to later actually follow through with them - to everyone's surprise
For the Falcon Heavy maiden launch, he teased that he'd launch his own Tesla Roadster into space. Then later we saw this:
Most test/demonstration flights have a large piece of concrete or metal as the payload.. that's too boring, according to Elon. Space should be fun and exciting. Which is why, months later we saw this:
^ a real image, not photoshopped
Along the same lines, he founded another company called The Boring Company and started selling hats (of all things) as a fundraiser, saying jokingly "if we run out of hats.. we'll sell flamethrowers"
They sold out of hats... so then he started selling:
^ which also sold out, but ended up raising 10 million dollars
A little bit of Ver's spirit comes out in Elon Musk every once in a while. He likes to joke through the physicality of life, and he does it in a very tasteful/stylish way imo.
He isn't afraid to do ridiculous things especially in sectors that are so serious. Some officials have tried to get his 'flamethrowers' banned for being dangerous devices (etc) but he also reels his jokes in to where they're never actually harmful. The car in space won't really contaminate Mars, the flamethrowers are not really flamethrowers but have just about the same potency as weed burners, etc.
But they do serve the purpose of loosening people's 'stuffy' expectations of things. I find Ver and Mer can both be that way. When something feels too stuffy and stiff, they disarm you and make you realize that you're taking everything too seriously. It's a breath of fresh air.
