Ne-1: Naive Eyes
Visual Description
The eyes will appear bright, open, awake – yet altogether harmless and naive. They will have the appearance of wide-eyed-wonder. The top and bottom eyelids will be pulled far back, revealing the eye more clearly and causing an appearance of big, round eyes.
Psychology Description
This signal evidences a psychology that is openly seeking and absorbing new information. The widening of the eyes is a reflex triggered by the impulse to gather more data from the environment. A person who consistently evidences this signal will be restless in their pursuit of stimulation, craving always real-time exploration and newness of experience.
Se-1: Amped Eyes
Visual Description
The eyes will appear awake, alert, sharp and piercing. The top and bottom eyelids will be pulled/stretched back, with this stretching continuing into the area around and below the eye.

Full Description
Both Ne and Se eyes create a widening of the eye in every direction, however the emphasis of this widening is slightly different in each. Below is a diagram showing this subtle difference in emphasis:
The red areas represent a stronger muscular emphasis, while the blue areas represent a slightly weaker emphasis. As we can see, Ne eyes do not open up as strongly in the bottom eyelid as they do the top. Inversely, Se eyes pull more heavily on the bottom eyelid and eye area, leaving the top eye area slightly more relaxed and covering the eye.
Eye Shapes
I must emphasize that anatomical features such as eye shapes are not indicative of type. The static look of eyes can be deceiving when not paired with an examination of how they express themselves in a dynamic way. With that said, all things being entirely equal, the effect of Se’s pulling can cause the eyes to take on a more almond shape from their baseline anatomy, while the effect of Ne’s pulling can cause eyes to take a more round shape from their baseline anatomy.
This effect is so slight, however, that anatomy has the capability to overpower it and produce Ne users with almond shape eyes and Se users with round eyes. We must always examine the quality of the tension present; where it’s coming from and how it is collaborating with the person’s natural eye shape.
