sitbone How do you fetishize your Se? I'm curious because my good friend is NiTe, but we connect on a lot of "Se stuff..." Like she is hyper sensitive to sensory discomfort, is obsessed with some facets of aesthetics and poor in others (ex. she loves fine art/music/food but can't put an outfit together), her entire dissertation is about being an aesthete, etc. But she definitely doesn't exhibit a whole lot of Pe traits, and I see very little Se signals in her. I would probably type her at NiTe-Ni like you, with conscious Fi. Either that or NiTe-Fi. Anyway, I'm just wondering how it plays out for you. And also how a function could be unconscious if there's that much fetishization of it.
sitbone - that is excellent! very insightful ty for sharing - it makes a lot of sense to me. and yknow it keeps reinforcing this idea that the polar really is the other half of the primary and we see polarization as quite a regular/natural occurrence. A followup video would be cool; i'm gonna keep making progress on the ctvc and database so we can get there.

sitbone Yeah that’s great! There’s a lot of that in my friend yes. She also has unconscious Te, although I think her Fi could be conscious. But really when I look at her I just see a blob of Ni-Se. We get along very well There’s a ton of body talk with her also, which I imagine is also partly her being a SP 9 (enneagram). It’s interesting that me being sort of inverse of you, SeFi-Ni, I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying, except Se isn’t the cool mystical ego obsession, but rather Ni is. I’m so viscerally overloaded by Se that it feels like discovering a new dimension to really use Ni, and it’s gotten stronger over time. Also just taking my extreme restlessness down a notch.

sitbone You did seem like a 9w8 to me when I saw your zone-out gif . Have you considered 974 as a tritype?
So body talk, like she analyzes how "we're all just flesh," how we're "electric meat," how fragile the body is, aesthetic pleasure, and all kinds of other little things, like once she said, "your job is just to put your physical body in different places"...sounds weird out of context but I was complaining about being bored at work.
And yes, I feel like Se is this constant influx of retina-screen input, like an overload, my body and mind try to respond, I'm being whipped around by the world, like everything needs to be taken in, and when I want to block it out it's impossible, like that guy at the end of Poe's Tell Tale Heart that hears a heartbeat of the guy he killed until he explodes and confesses. And it badgers me, desperate for the environment to provide something of interest, not able on it's own to create intrigue and excitement. Ni is like "what the hell is all this," what does it mean, reassuring, settling, calming, an anaesthetic to my amphetamine mind. There were too many mixed metaphors in there.
This all checks out @auburn awesome job! I’ve come to notice and accept all of this instinctively, after having distanced myself from CT mentally for a while, and have just recently taken a detour into the wonderful world of nootropics in an attempt to find ways to enhance energy, concentration, and my overall experience of Se in general. Needless to say, caffeine is the sheit and making sure you are active and receiving necessary nutrients is also very important for the best experience.
My current understanding of astrology is also lining up quite perfectly with what you describe Se to be responsible for. The discribed energetic influences of Mercury and Uranus, particularly but also the influence of Pluto and of course Mars. And it’s also intriguing that Hermès is the God of Mercury and I’ve seen him pop up in threads related to “the child”.
If I come to a less personal and subjective understanding someday I’ll attempt to link the two but for now I wanted to share what I was thinking as I was reading through.
