I was thinking about a thing that happens most of the times in this forum. The people come here, posting a video, and then after the reading they leave (maybe "forever") the forum... i don't think this is a good thing because i presume the 80% of the cases they don't talk about the site in other forums, so i was thinking about some ways to make C.T. become greater and populated. The first thing i thought is a picture with a text like "He/She is been v.read and is turned out XyXy", inviting them to put it in their signature, so everyone in other forums can see the site and get intrigued, something like that:
I think the biggest part of that is the site isn't complete. For example they're read as a certain type but there is no profile of that type to read up on --- so they rely on their prior concept via the old systems for a reference and disagree with it. Right now it's kinda like going into a party that is still setting up the tables and chairs, I think. So I personally don't feel right promoting something that isn't even finished yet. o,o I'm just too slow.
There will be more of a base topic(s) to talk about once all that is up. But despite not being finished this site is getting quite a lot of attention, I'd say. Though my ethos also dislikes the idea of inflated memberbases. Gaining numbers for numbers' sake. I think if the content is worth it, and valuable, people will appreciate it. And I'm already beyond thrilled to even have you few members understand this. If the site didn't grow past 70 members I'd still consider it worthwhile. I'm also more of a fan of small forums, as I think larger forums become unsafe places to share more meaningfully and to connect as real people. Instead members connect impersonally via proxies, interacting with non-human usernames.
I agree with Heron that it would be cool to have something to increase the number of people at this site, but I also agree with you Auburn that having a small forum is awesome. I've been working long hours and haven't been able to contribute as much to the site as I want, but I'm still able to keep up with what's going on with the amount of activity it has. If you to forums like PerC and the other large forums it's impossible to keep up unless you don't do anything else with your life. I used to be active on PerC but now this is the only forum I participate in, and I see that continuing into the future because most of the people on that forum don't know anything. If you suggested Einstein was an INFP there you would be immediately discredited, because that forum is mostly composed of mistypes. Lots of SJs who think they are INTJ and INFJs. If you look at the forum statistics there, the most common types in order are INFJ, ENTP, etc. in order what are considered to be the "best" types. It's ridiculous, but it's what you'd expect considering how much MBTI marginalizes sensing types.
For me, I'd like to be visually read but I don't feel comfortable putting a video of me out there for anyone to see. Maybe if Erifrail and Alerith would be willing to look at it privately then I'd be open to sending them something, but other than that I'll probably just remain unknown or try to read myself.
well, Auburn i understand your point, i also prefer a smaller forum actually, but this site has the potential to be a medium of the cognitive theory giving a better understanding that only a few other sites in the internet give. I also know that the people who comes and run away will arrive here probably forever

this is what i was thinking. There are a lot of mistypes and misconceptions, there are a solid base of errors that makes the cognitive theory a casual entertainment more that an actual comprehension of themselves. I still think is a good idea create pictures to put in the signature
I probably should have kept my mouth shut. I tried to introduce CT to PersonalityCafe and got booted out and hissed at pretty quickly in one thread. Sigh...I hope that this stuff reaches people more easily later on and resonates with others, the way it should.
"I will never assert that an individual must be the type I think they are. I am human, I still have subjectivity. I also think it's possible that an individual can be aware if they have been mistyped. Therefore, when it comes down to it, the ultimate decision to accept/reject a typing should come from that person themself. For better or worse, it is ultimately up to them...or some kind of perfect brain scan. haha"

Ya, I think this theory should catch on someday, I'd have to be smoking some serious crack if these patterns didn't exist. Though I suppose what erifrail said makes a lot of sense, we need to more information on how the functions manifest.

In complete agreement with Auburn. People come here looking to find their type, but because their are no articles to further the knowledge of the typing they've attained, they leave and revert it to MBTI.
I myself am content with being part of the group to contribute to these articles. I'm also content with the small member base. Less people, more authentic interaction.

In theory there is a possibility of perfect happiness:
To believe in the indestructible element within one,
and not to strive towards it.
I'm content with a cognitive type. It is better than MBTI and Socionics. Oh and Heron and Erifrail, keep up the good work of making this an excellent site to be on.
