In terms of Pi providing stability, that makes sense and I do feel that way on Ni.. my world is not quite mine without it playing its major part. And I wasn't really saying anything on my identification as a child, as I didn't want to take up your thread with 'me', haha, but it's again a thought that I have that may develop further, if it wants to. Something I thought of was that if there is a possibility of 'trying what works' in terms of information gathering and exhibiting that information based upon ones environment, it is possible that the use of all the functions would be a bit blurry, as it's not as definable, perhaps? They could be one extreme or another, well-rounded or completely lopsided and some not utilized enough.
As to identification and Fi, the way I'm figuring things now is I'd love an EEG.. proof, I want to 'see' how I think, and if how I think is.. how I think that I think... because I'm open to being wrong on it too. Also this thread helped me make sense of more of the issues I had with this theory in terms of myself. I'm sure you've seen it, but if not, there it is.
I think that the polar functions could certainly hold ground with what interests someone (typically what they're sort of good at), I really don't identify much with Se in terms of interests, but I do with Ni.. or maybe to put it a better way, with Ni/Se, that makes sense to me, at this point I am finding it hard to separate them, which is actually really cool to me.. and I see the oscillations as me flip flopping from Se dom, to Ni dom, and back again.. Maybe it is similar with you? So many interesting thoughts..
