Dusk, palm trees, and the hazy orange glow of street lamps. A motley crowd has gathered on the street to wait for something to happen. Dress shirts and jeans and skirts and children. A young man consults the program for the evening. An older gentleman adjusts his glasses. A woman in a pink dress jingles something in her hand and a young boy looks up at the man in the red shirt.
Is there a parade? They don't look like the usual parade goers. Was there an accident? Why are all of these people waiting? What are they waiting for? Was their nightly schedule interrupted and they are doing their best to pass the time until they can continue on with their original plans? It looks hot. I would be irritated if I were dressed like these in the heat - especially if my plans were interrupted.
First, I don't know how to do a spoiler. I've never done one, but I will try.
Secondly, the people are waiting for something to arrive, a plane? a bus? Maybe a trolley car? Some of them have what appears to be programs or schedules in their hands. Some of them have that waiting posture, [hands in their pockets, looking in the direction of the expected arrival.] There are people mulling around, like you do when you're waiting and you're bored. There is a sense of expectation. It is early morning or late evening in a subtropical climate. Some of the people are family and some are complete strangers to everyone else, just all thrown together while they...wait.

nochipa : For your text to appear in a spoiler, you need to put spoiler tags at the beginning and the end of it. The spoiler tags are "spoiler" and "/spoiler" written not between quotation marks but between square brackets (if I do it myself to show it, well...).
Forgive me for getting a bit of squeeing out of the way first, but oh my god, so gorgeous. I love those colors, the vivid reds and yellows and oranges. I've always had a fondness for sunsets, and for warm, fiery colors, and how could I not adore this picture? I came across it and simply had to post it.
That said, I don't know where it is. It looks like a lake of some sort, somewhere tropical, surrounded by mountains. It seems unlikely, and is probably just being suggested by the colors, but for some reason the image makes me think of a volcano. Some, like the one at Yellowstone, have huge calderas, which this could theoretically be one of, as the way the mountains ring it look sort of like a caldera rim. Probably not true at all, as volcanoes that large are very rare, but that was my instinctive reaction all the same.
Also, I think I see a boat.
On a second glance, I'm not even sure this picture's entirely natural, as the colors just look a bit too vivid, and the sun seems almost comically enlarged. Something may be not quite right about it, although I'm not certain as I don't know much about photography. I still think it's an awesome image, real or not, but my first thoughts are near certain proof of my gullibility.
Burning Planet, blood, symmetry, floating in mid-dimension. Bright moon like the one outside, fascination for the viewer. Sanctuary. Otherwise, this might be a shot of the setting sun in some tropical island, probably a wallpaper, the format is right and I had one of these myself. Is the random generator calibrated on color, like this one I saw a long time ago ? Probably not, there was no dominant color on the last one. Apocalypse Now. Wonder what the others will thought of it ? Look like the kind of Rorschach that can inspire some romantic dreams, or just holidays. No, it will probably worth more than that, and the tone is not right. Let's take a look at it. Still wonder what make that safe to me though, is this a classical association to imaginative escapade ? Yeah, sure, I am not a unique flower.
Edit : A, you tricked me ! I should be more careful in my thinking. Also, that's about time !

Sunset. Is that photoshopped? Looks like it. Yeah, definitely photoshopped. Looks like it's around 7pm in the summer. The area to the left almost doesn't look like water, more like a solid area coloured black. Trees.
BOOM, drastically changed my mood in that moment. So quiet, so wonderfull, that powefull red and the orange sun makes me excited and relaxed at the same time. But, alas! Probably adjusted with a software, i think it's obvious that the sun was added after. I believe the original landscape will be awesome as well. I think we are (actually is difficult to say) in north africa/west asia, the palm trees don't seem too dense in quantity. Is these aloe plants what i see?
First impression: Africa. Following quickly with the 80s version of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". It was in my mom's aerobic cassette from the same period. It looks like a poster, one of those I used to browse through at a bookstore when teenager.

First impression: eternal return. and how earth is a representation of the 'sky', how we incarnate myths, how reality and 'ireality' are mixed-up all the time in different degrees, no matter how much we evolve in the end of the day it's still a matter of projections, how it is not a matter of perfection but of wholeness and fullness. And that we learn so much about ourselves from what the world and people reflect bakc to us. Like this picture's doing to me.

My first impression is not very impressive. I froze up like a deer in the headlights and marveled at the beautiful color and contrast. It was very mesmerizing and I had a hard time getting myself to take mental note of the details. I just wanted to look at it without describing it.
Calm, warm, utterly beautiful, it's probably the sort of place that has more life than it knows what to do with it. I love the bold colors and the reflection of the scene on the water. The water is safe while the land may not be.
Everything contained in here is what I typed before reading other's responses.
Sun, sunset, palm trees, water, reflection. Lots of red.
Other than the unusual amount of reflectivity (perhaps suggesting this is a painting), I don't find much interest in this picture, which is why I list tags
