NeTi, FeSi, or a different type?

Welcome! Thanks for posting such a thorough video, it really gave enough data to identify most everything.
The answer to whether you're "too passionate" to be NeTi or too cognitive to be FeSi lies in the middle;
A process that is both passionate and cognitive: Te.

I'm almost certain you're Te-lead with your secondary being Ni: TeNi (LIE)

Explanation:

As to whether you're Ne-lead or Fe-lead, the center of your being lies in discernment of rightness, whatever the context (J-lead) rather than fluidly navigating via the impressions of the mind and being carried by them (P-lead). You're quite a "deliberate" person - you don't seem the type to lead your life by whims. Sure, on a day-to-day you have some moments of creativity/exploration but that is fuel to your psyche's need for proper definition of life's components. For P-leads, it's the flow itself that's the desire and main point of life, generally speaking. This J-ness can be seen in your rigid body posture, the exacting ways you jut your head forward, and the way your hands have a calculated density.

That puts you at some sort of J-lead, but it's definitely Fe or Te (the 'articulation') processes. You have an easy and unbroken stream of speech that emerges all too naturally, and a force/passion that is native to both. The difference between it being Te and not Fe is seen in three mains things.
1) The strong presence of Fi in your cheeks, which never cools down fully
2) The way your grimaces go up toward your nose; Fi snarl
3) The way you talk is Te 'avalanching speech' coated with Fi's sullen aura.

You are almost identical to TeNi Richard Feynman, and in fact are the same "shade" of Te-lead as he is. You're also very similar to TeNi Bill O'Reily, who has a similar type of passion as you. Now when I say "Fi snarling" it's the way in which the muscles above your mouth twist/rise at unexpected times. Not to be confused with having those "lines" above the cheeks, it's moreso how the mouth shrivels upward. They rise depending on how much personal emotion you feel toward what you're discussion at that second. Fe-leads don't have this happen.

Notice how in the Fe user videos, even after each exertion of strong emotional push, their energy recedes back for a moment to collect itself. There is a tide-like effect in their speech. This is Ti largely neutralizing their passion and gathering back to re-analyze the next bit of force that will be pushed out. In contrast, Te-leads don't receded in this way, they have a level of emotional energy always lingering in the background and they never neutralize it. Instead head pushes and words spring forth from that emotional plateau (bluntly) one after another. Though what I'm describing is more of an advanced-level signals, so I apologize if I can't make it clearer than this.


Note about Te & Emotions.

All humans have emotional information that is fed to the neocortex just like the information from all other sensory organs. In the case of emotions, it is fed through by the thalamus/hippocampus/etc. Fi & Fe both deeply take emotional information into consideration in their deduction processes. Te and Ti divorce themselves from that information deliberately, to deduce objectively. But taking something into consideration is different than necessarily needing to feel it. And so any type can be emotional without that saying anything about their functions or which is dominant.

For you, though, Fi is the second half of your psychic identity and the consideration of ethos that it carries is of importance to you. Being ethically and logically right may be equally important to you. You have strong Fi as well as Te. But this shouldn't be confused with Fe. As you noted yourself, you're not great at playing host or "tangibly" caretaking and so forth, even though you feel strongly. This is in line with your type. Having Fi and not Fe means that you'll be able to feel strongly as well, but you can only implement that private inner caring via more spartan/direct Te means.

Te-leads often have a reputation of being a "Jerk with a Heart of Gold". This is because they care but they show their care in unconventional ways. Not via flowers and social niceties, but by other means that might even go unnoticed to their loved ones.

I can see your thought process zero-in on all the important/pertinent questions.
And it's refreshingly open-minded.

Logistics: Thinking of it in isolation for a moment, Te is a process that deduces within environmental parameters. Object-oriented. If something doesn't make sense in the sense that aspects of reality clash against each other, then Te protests. In contrast Ti is more 'philosophical' in that it debates the logical-correctness of a system against itself, rather than the world. Internal consistency is the main focus, but because of this Ti users run the risk of creating crystalline castles in the clouds. In other words, models that make perfect sense in themselves but have nothing to do with reality. Te rarely falls into that trap because it uses real variables to gauge from.

Thus Te does produce 'logistical managing' but it is broader than people think that is, as people like Feynman can demonstrate. Wanting to understand the relations that aspects of the universe have to each other, and the dynamics of life, is an object-oriented theme in which Te can thrive by finding truths. It's not just finances and organization. I do believe Jung described Darwin as being a Te user, and his deduction did very much rest on the 'object'. It's more about empiricism. Another famous example of an academic Te-user would be the fictional Sherlock Holmes. And so you see, they're logistical but not necessarily in the rote-work sense. Especially not when used in tandem with Ni which has an affinity for the uncharted/unknown.

Ti logic is more akin to reductionism, and more suited to creating taxonomies and language-like systems. It is more idealistic in its logic, in that sense. Though Ti can generally agree with Te's rationality because Te will explain the parameters of reality and demonstrate its own competence in arriving at the proper contextual truth within those parameters. It just doesn't naturally think in any particular context as a default - but instead is able to adapt to whatever parameters it is given (or gives itself) and form a personal crystal castle from it.



Feynman was renown for being a very powerful lecturer. Articulator. And for having passion for the things he explained. When you talk, there is a similar type of passion in you and zeal for the reality of a matter. You genuinely become confused by lack of data and that confusion bothers you, and you want to know. This is the sense I get from you and it's the same motivation I sense in Feynman. More tangibly speaking it is zealous Te thirst for challenge+truth, but there's also an innocent Fi underneath. If you watch the TeNi video I posted you see Feynman there and how his Fi overtakes him. I would speculate something very similar happens in you when you speak about something very dear to you.


The functions are more easily identified because they're distinct in the signals they elicit, but yes the ordering can be more of a challenge especially given data in only one environment/mode. Still in your case the Je-lead is pretty undeniable due to all the signals being shown (not just Je cues, but Je-lead cues), and given that your functions are also apparent to me as being Te/Fi, Ni/Se - Te would be that Je-lead process. More data is always helpful, of course, as in any investigation. Specifically, seeing a person interact with another and smile/laugh helps a lot, and seeing the hands more.


Your eyes were fixated on the camera, but if they were Si eyes they would have blinked a lot more, even when fixated, and scrunched down the outer edges. I'll be posting a video of Si-doms soon to contrast against. Mmm, NeTi is pretty impossible, at least via CT's interpretation, and NeFi is unlikely though not impossible.


Cognitive Type is more of a psychological theory, than a behavioral theory, but it *does* predict behavior. However it acknowledges that the same behavior can arise for more than one reason by more than one type, and instead what one can predict is a series of patterns of behavior that have a common psychological origin/impulse, rather than independent habits. As for specifics it really depends on the circumstance, and that will be highlighted when the profiles are made.

Per example, getting all As in highschool math is a behavior that can be due to:
 - Fe-doms needing validation from parents who want their child to be the best.
 - Te-lead who is just naturally efficient at all the material, with some desire to get into a high-league college.
 - An Si lead from an Asian culture that is perfectionist and which he can't escape.
 - etc.
(Not just due to having a "T" preferences, etc)

The notion of "subtypes" isn't truly necessary in cognitive type theory, because those are dependent on a person's development. If subtypes were made, then one day a person could be one subtype, then learn to use a function better and become a different subtype. It's nothing absolute/concrete, and it's better to qualify it as saying a person has strong or weak development of a certain process, and so forth. That acknowledges the transitory reality of it, rather than giving it a label with arbitrary start/end points.


Well, given the explanation of Te's capacity to also speculate above, I wonder what you think? One thing about Te that I see as being an almost universal misunderstood, is that Te's nonchalance, dismissiveness and distaste for irrelevancy makes it prone to not want to do tedious work. The difference is that when Te does realize something needs to be done, it just does. It does so without being told because it has a personal impulse to make reality operate in a sensible way. So there's a curious phenomenon of duality with Te users in that they're excellent workers when work needs to be done, and if they can see it's necessary, but if it's not, they can be extremely nonchalant about all else. It all depends on necessity.

That and also that Te has a sense of humor. A very specific one too - being somewhat dry/deadpan but witty.
When not working, Te users can be very funny, quick-witted lazy-asses.
When working, Te users can be very stoic, quick-working hard-asses.


I'm not entirely familiar with Model A of Socionics, but see no need to further complicate matters by appending theoretical extras of this sort. I know socionics has an "ego" factor as well, and a mathematical theory of the remaining functions and their placement in the psyche --- but all of this seems highly unprovable/untestable to me. It is easy to make speculations as to how the subconscious affects people, and nobody could verify or falsify it either way. CognitiveType's model is a model that explains aspects of our consciousness, not the unconscious, which it admits to be ignorant of but doesn't speculate unduly into. So things like PoLR and hidden agenda don't cross over into CT.
