Autism spectrum / Asperger's and cognitive functions

If I were to add my two cents to the thread from my personal experience, I have met with my cousin with autistic tendencies (or dysphasia... diagnostic have proved problematic) for the last couple of days, and I have been able to pick up on his visual cues. It is puzzling as he shows all the usual signs of the NeFi type (soft but restless momentum, snarl, self-parodying, rambling speeches about personal interest), except the eyes moves. They are gently resting in their socket and are unambiguously Ne to me, but they almost don't toggle and he stares for prolonged periods at his interlocutor. He is very nice but seems to have some difficulties picking up on context, conversation cues and not doing much transcontextual thinking (all traits attributable to F7 region I believe). His education has been strained but, thanks to the dedication of his father, he was able to go slowly through school and graduate, and is currently studying for a diploma in mechanics that he is passionate about without excess. I wonder if his native cognitive type, being supposedly very active in the F7 region, has played a role in balancing his personality traits. He lead an all around normal life and his simplicity even convey some "high functioning" ethical considerations that I think it would be unfair to downplay

Around the age of ten I was misdiagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (this happens quite often with gifted children), so on a related topic I'd be curious to see if there is a correlation between certain types and misdiagnosis of certain disorders like Aspergers.
