I was surprised to see the names T7 and T8 lastly to refer to brain areas. In the system we have been using on the forum, seen in Dario Nardi's works, they didn't show. After some quick research, I found (here) that there were "new names" of electrodes. T7 is the old T3 and T8 is the old T4. AF3 is between Fp1 and F3 (but seems to belong to the old "territory" of Fp1). The same goes symmetrically for AF4, being between Fp2 and F4 and seems to belong more to the old Fp2. Check this picture below : A and B are the old familiar systems, and C is the new system with an ugly non-realistic circular-shaped head (why ?) a
I don't know when it changed, but it can be useful if we hear about new names. The black dots are the names that changed during this revolution (if there ever was one). What I like here are the results that look that way :
This is much better than the older ones, where areas were very separated from one another, useful but giving in my sense a false idea of the response in the brain. This made me realize (or remember) that the areas were very simplificated in Dario Nardi's work, for communication purpose I suppose (I saw some previous brain maps from his works, with more areas, differently shaped : some areas combine several smaller ones). Well, this is actually only a better resolution (and a crappy circular design), but it's a step toward more precise understanding.
And please note that I am no specialist here, so I may have a false understanding of something. Feel free to correct anything !
