Due to the fact that these 'Larin Video Series Clear Examples' threads were created as places for us to post clear examples of types and not wrong typings hehe ^^, and also due to the fact that these threads were becoming a big big mess (see conversation about it: cognitivetype.boards.net/thread/793/) in that thread we came to the conclusion that it's better that members post a celebrity or youtuber-celeb [create a thread with his/her name] in the board 'Reading Practice & Celebrity Typing' and only after a consensus involving discussion of signals should we post videos here.
So, if you think someone is a clear example of a CT, instead of posting the person here, open a thread with the person's name (in case the person is not there yet) here: cognitivetype.boards.net/board/7/readers
well, i don't understand why (except for the signals) i don't think to relate with any NeTi i found until now (except a little for Jeff Buckley) They all seem to have a joker-like demeanour, a permanent smirk, a super friendly articulation, they all seem so approachable, while i'm more something like this:
Infact i'm often accused to be "arrogant" "aggressive" "intimidating" (all the things often said for NiTes), without doing nothing .-. I'm desperately searching an NeTi who barely looks like me
Hmm, I have a close fondness and connection to NeTi. I can see myself in some of those videos (As a TiNe, it's actually more like how I would want to be - more articulate and confident in my convictions delivered through the guise of witty demeanour). Jeff Buckley on the other hand. I can definitely see NeTi but he has this air of abstraction in the vid below, where the immediacy of the interview has seemingly resulted in him producing scrambled and edgy articulation. I certainly relate more to Jeff in every day communication. There's more of a contrived structure to the Fun Science vid above and with protagonist Charlie it highlights the stereotypical view of MBTI's 'ENTP' that we all know and love.
Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' is like a sucker punch every time i hear it.
Heron Well, after looking at a few of his interview vids i'm not absolutely sure but I think i'm edging on the side of Ti/Fe and Ne/Si but J or P lead is another story.
Ne - Eyes naive and sitting casually in sockets, gentle darting showing a confused look, also body drifting. Si - Very subtle scowls with outer edge down brow furrows Ti - Loads of neutralisation. flat/neutral face at rest. Fe - Warm articulation, pushes here and there but he hardly ever smiles so hard to gauge for certain. I don't see the Fi snarl or continual tension.
There's a part of the above video that had me thinking. At 6.15 it appears as though his eyes are locked-on with Se (looking up to side with whole head) or is he extracting info from his worldview Si? I also thought there were other transient periods of Se object lock-on but then he shows a break of gaze routinely (Ne) during articulation so I may just be complicating things.
In the interview above he shows the Pe restlessnesses is prevalent. But in this interview below he exhibits the Ji lead rigidity. However his body has a more generalised flow to it, so all that said, i'm going with NeTi.
So I was a little hesitant to post this at first, because I feel like a large portion of my reads have come out as NeTi or similar and I'm consciously trying to not fall prey to an amateurish "I like this person and kind of relate to what I know of them so they must be the same as me" kind of deal, but I'm like 90% sure that Justin Pierre is an NeTi.
Bad sound quality but it shows a little more energy and movement than the others.
I watched all four parts, but that's probably not wholly necessary.
Soft eyes and scowling leads me to believe Ne/Si. Also he doesn't seem to have the intensity of an Se user (the whole fish(Ne) versus rocket(Se) analogy). In the first and second videos (most notably the second) you can see an undercurrent of energy(Pe) in his movements and he has that effect described in the actual Larin video where it looks like he may kind of move in any direction at any given moment. Also, at points in the third video (or rather, throughout that series of videos. Part 1 may not have all of the signs contained within it alone) he has moments where something will catch his interest or get him engaged and he'll visibly kind of perk up and gain a lot of apparent energy. (At 5:40ish in Part 2 he has a moment where he "gets distracted" by the cymbal next to him and takes a moment to kind of play with that. They even say in the video "ADD/ADHD" which has been compared, at least in part, to Ne. Again at 7:28 in Part 1 he has a noticeable moment where he gets engaged and sits forward. Again, adding to the Ne evidence, he answers a lot of questions by starting on topic but slowly drifts off on tangents because he'll elaborate with a Ti "technical explanation" (eg. when he's asked about how the band's sound has changed over time in Part 1 and he ends up going over how a band's material will be more/less appealing according to where in their discography you began listening) and that'll continue onward until he realizes that he hasn't even answered the question (he has one point, that I can't seem to find again, where he even calls attention to the fact that he hasn't even answered it)) Judgement I'd say fairly confidently that he uses Ti/Fe. His smile at first (for me) looked a little Fi-ish in the sense that it wasn't super wide, but he does a lot of Ti meticulous hand movements/Fe pushes and his face is flat and neutral at rest (seen best in video 1, probably).
Other, More Tenuous, Less Reliable, Vaguely Psychological Notes: In the first video there are multiple instances where he kind of smirks a little and you can see a smile sort of playing on his face and at the same time he'll look at the interview and kind of engage with that. Rather than smiling to himself (as with Fi), his emotions/smile are meant to connect with the outside (Fe).
In Part 1 he talks about how he likes the making-it-up-along-the-way method of touring that he's been using with Twitter, which is kind of the classic/stereotypical Pe/xxxP idea.
Also, later in Part 1 the interviewer asks him if he had any expectations for the album and his response is "Uh... Nope." Which reflects the Ne/Si nature of not expecting anything from the unknown.
In Part 3 of that third series thing, at 2:00 he talks about how he likes people and finds them interesting (an outgoing sense of exploration) even though he spends a lot of time alone (Time which he says he spends watching movies, reading, etc. which, referencing the Introversion/Extraversion thread, is still Ne engaging in the world despite the apparent introversion of that behavior)
Lots of other things that I have neither the time nor patience to elaborate on.
PS. Y'know, with a little more effort/development I might be able to turn this into a passable thread for the Case Studies Sub-Series..
EDIT: Also, I'm noticing a trend with NeTis and anxiety. I've had anxiety issues in the past (ones that have never really gone away even now). Heron has a post about panic attacks in his Experience of Being a Type thread. If I remember correctly, Sevenfish said something about at least mild anxiety (maybe not. I definitely seem to remember her at least saying something about not being fully confident with how to act/react socially, at least). Tessa Violet has a video on her channel where she talks about anxiety and panic attacks. And Justin Pierre (if I'm right about his type (I like to think I am)) talks about how he gets anxious and such (it's very apparent in his music, too).
I'm not speaking for all NeTis or anything. I just thought that this was interesting.
Reckoner sorry, i was thinking how to reply but i forgot it I was confused too initally, because psichologically the difference is very subtle. I think the only way you have to know if you are an NeTi or a TiNe is to make introspection, watch also at how you acted your infancy, tendetially the TiNe babies are way more controlled and quiet compared to NeTi kids. I see you haven't posted a video of yourself yet, why don't you try?

I think is highly correlated with the Ne nature "what would happen if this this and this? but also this and this are realistic hypothesis. But even this this this this this this this this...", Ne as an exploring function is an exciting process, when you don't have the right state of mind it can lead to a crescendo of illness that is difficult to control. I noticed that every Nx has problems anxiety (NiTes hide it from themselfs but you can notice this when you know one well enough), in my case it was a mixture of depression (i think i had a serious depression for maybe a year, not analyzed by a psichologist but i had all the symptoms), social awkwardness and other little things all together. A thing that works for me, when is difficult to not think about something, is to change my focus and mantain my brain busy with other things, like play the guitar/piano (this is the only thing that almost erase any thoughts from my head), or write novels, stuff like that.
Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' is like a sucker punch every time i hear it.
absolutely yes Anyway, have you considered the possibility to be actually a NeTi?
Heron Oops, you were referring to me being NeTi not Jeff Buckley. My mistake .
MBTI assessments i've used in the past have resulted in predominantly ENTP results with some INTP. Delving into the functions themselves I identified with extraverted intuition and introverted thinking as dominants but I was unable to determine if I was a perception or judgement lead. History (according to my mother) dictates that I'm an introvert - spending most of my time introspecting or engaging with a select group of friends. However, I was not a quiet and controlled baby, quite the opposite. Alerith recently analysed the functions I exhibit in a video that I linked to via email (a reluctance to reveal a video of myself to the forum). Alerith concluded that my rigid posture and face-centric manner were characteristic of J-lead. Without expanding or going into detail I was typed as TiNe. I should probably post the video in the relevant section soon to fit in with the new typing guidelines and enable others to get involved with their own analysis.
Heron, I believe you were originally typed as TiNe, although Auburn and others noted a excess of Ne in the content and language of your posts hinting at a Pe dominance. What subjective factors other than those already highlighted did you use to determine your perception lead?

I can relate to this and have also quietly observed a suppressed anxiety in my NiTe brother. I can imagine it tip-toeing through his psyche like an ephemeral thief, briefly and clandestinely robbing him of his rationality.

I started to compare myself with other TiNe, and talked with someone here. I watched especially the video where erifrail and alerith talk togheter about ct. Psichologically i think i understanded it because i have the tendecy to make judjments only when i have a huge amount of informations, without them i'm likely to lost all the certainty, then i make a filtering work. I think that most of the TiNe choses only the informations he thinks to need, doing the skimming while taking the informations. And i compared how i analyze situations with other TiNe (mostly basing on Alerith and Erifrail posts), i suggest you to read this post and this post i wrote, i think this is the main cause of his doubts about my type .

Cool post! I just thought I'd back this part up. Yeah I definitely did (and sort of still do, but way less) have anxiety. The phychiatrist I went to for my ADD said it was "moderate". When I was 11-13ish I used to be absolutely terrified that something irrationally horrible was going to happen all the time (e.x. my parents were going to randomly die of cancer, or someone would break in and kill my family in front of me, or the sun would explode.) I had to listen to tapes in order to sleep.
Probably the Ne imagining negative possibilities without a well-enough developed Ti to tell you that they are rediculous. Maybe the Fe makes it about people.
