Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm getting at. Cognitive functions exist, so we can both see them and describe them. If your terms and methods are correct, you should be able to understand your type even without VR. Problem is it's hard to tell what's reliable and what isn't without some kind of measuring stick. It's happened, though, in cases like EJArendee.
I'm starting to incline toward NeTi now also. In addition to the reading, there are a lot of things I identified with in what you were talking about, both content and manner of speaking. Except you're a perception lead.
Things like repeating yourself as if to clarify exactly what you mean or to make sure you yourself understand it, stopping halfway through a sentence because you can't figure out the best way to say it, talking about hiding behind things and not really being "yourself". These aren't necessarily specific to NTPs, but the way you do them and talk about them feels familiar to me.
Random thought- your eyebrows are actually pretty typical for a Pe lead of any kind. Since Pi is in opposition to the lead Pe, you'll see Si or Ni "win" the face a lot less often than the other functions. My girlfriend is an NeFi, and she rarely scrunches her brows unless purposefully communicating confusion or frustration, where I, an Si-third, have mine scrunched up almost constantly (because I ponder a lot) and get tired of displaying Fe really quickly (because my face is lazy).
