My real name is - should I say it? - why not? I guess it won't kill - Stefan. I'm from Romania, but have been living in a Canada for a few years; I plan to return once I'm done school. I descend mainly from farmers, and feel a deep attachment with the land; in Romania, for those who look, the Earth is very much alive and very much connected with the people. Unfortunately, there has been a major shift to urban life within the last century and the people have been cut off from the soil. Thanks to a poor economy, many have had to emigrate; amongst these were my parents, and I along with them. However, I feel like a flower that has been plucked out from the soil and put into a vase filled with water; I just can't connect. I plan to return and to help rebuild the country; what exactly that means, I don't yet know.
As for myself, I've been interested in history and various religions for a while; lately, I've developed a passion for philosophy also. However, as it is in my nature to procrastinate, I have yet to develop a very good knowledge of any of these (though I'm more knowledgeable than most in my school, I think). For those who wonder about what might seem like a simple vocabulary (maybe it's just my illusion?), I'll excuse myself by stating that my speech became very abstract and vague in the past, making it somewhat incomprehensible to most, so I had to tweak it a bit.
In regards to MBTI, I took a quizz last year and scored INTJ. For a while it made sense, but that was mainly because I had only read the descriptions of the INTJ and of the ESFP (what my brother got on the first quizz). After looking at the various quizzes, I realized they're not very accurate. I began to read up on the various functions, which created some more confusion, not because I don't really know myself, but because I overanalyzed each detail. I had a period of INTJ-INFJ uncertainty, chose INTP in the end, but then switched to INFP. Next, a period of INFP-INFJ uncertainty, which I solved by coming here; now I'm in the NiFe camp. I still have quite a bit of reading to do, but I think I have made progress since I first found out about Jung's theories.

Hello people! I'm from the Philippines, and I've been curious/reading about the MBTI/socionics system for years. It wasn't until I found the functions and Dario Nardi's work that my interest was piqued again. I'm trying not to say too much until my body language gets read; I don't want to give out too many clues.
Also, I've noticed that this place attracts a rather diverse crowd, at least location-wise: everybody's from different places around the globe.
My mother tongue is not English, so please forgive me errors in language. I'm from Finland, and in the light of my culture, I'm not surprised of having Te dominant expression. If I had to describe a stereotypical Finn, he would have a deadpan face, monotone speech, steady disgusted stare, and unemotional and blunt expression. But thinking of it, I don't know that many Te dominant people, so it might be me looking at the mirror here.
I once went to people on a connection flight. I've always had a good opinion of the Finns since then, even if I didn't stay very long. Very nice people; I hear very brave too (sisu . I tried learning your language, also, but I just didn't have the time; perhaps in the future. I have a hard time pronouncing some of your letters, though.
As for the Finns I've seen online, they're all a bunch of Ne-lead trolls.
Good morning, afternoon and evening, here's a minor addition to the ardent troupe of Cognitive Typee's.
Photography is my game and as a photojournalist It has been my window to the world allowing me to separate and filter real life through a detached and observant perspective. I've witnessed first hand the harsh and animalistic nature of group mentality, I've observed discrete malevolent and benevolent acts that have had the power to affect the lives of hundreds if not thousands. But observing the human condition in such a way has not brought me closer to the truth, until now. I recently posted a photo of a photo on Facebook of me holding a tree branch shaped like a question mark. One of my close friends fittingly commented that it was my symbol. Questioning, wondering why, analysing everything (often to the great frustration of others) is my mode. This exploratory ethos has guided my understanding of the human behaviour but my research into cognitive function theory is the field that has brought me so much closer to understanding what it is that defines the way we think and do. Erifrail and Alerith's development of Cognitive Typing sheds a new and exciting light on a field that has always had an ambiguous pseudo-science mystic attached to it. This is truly an exciting new theory but being careful not to overstate its potential, could have very real and profound effects of how we understand, communicate, break down barriers and collaborate as a species in the future.
I have many questions but little answers. It's time to change that....
I have been attracted to typology and have read many forums without interaction in quiet reverie. I make many inward journeys, this travel is indeed my pursuit of a amalgamated practice that is from my experience constantly arising,
Born an identical twin and the concept of identity, is present and known to me early, due to the environmental social comparing; it brings closer the feeling of non-local consciousness, my brother is one minute older, I am 32,
It is very easy to recognize the value herein and the powerful minds of those currently plugged into this. As this structure develops it will be interesting to see what it supports.
I look forward to meeting with you here, in collaboration;
MsLajlaa If you're right about the typical Finn being Te-lead - though you said you haven't met too many yet:) - and I'm right about you guys being very likable in general, then that could serve as proof against the stereotype that Te-leads are all blood-sucking vampires or sadistic autocratic warlords.

Linus: Hehheh, I'm not 100% sure that I'm a Te-lead even myself, even though I can act like a warlord at times - just ask my kids. But yeah, I do think there is something TeFi in Finland, or alternately Ti>Fe (think Kimi Räikkönen). It's that no-nonsense, mind your own business, functionalist, reserved attitude.
MsLajlaa We all have our pseudo-warlord moments. I tend to take leader position in groups quite often, working towards the goal I have in mind, even if I have to ignore others sometimes; also, I think I heard somebody say that I look like a dictator, whatever that means. If only people were more reserved here also! I'd get along much better. Here the reserved people are rather bitter in character (there are exceptions of course). From what I've heard, the traits you've attributed to Finns are the norm in the Nordic countries, perhaps with the exception of the Swedes, who don't have the best reputation (are you familiar with the term partysvensk? It's Norwegian, so I don't know if you have the same thing there.).

Partysvensk, haven't heard but I can only imagine... We have a lot of jokes of other Nordic people, especially Swedes. I guess we are just jealous, as we don't have royalty, and they are prettier than us.

A Swedish friend showed this to me. I don't know what they're saying, but the distinction is pretty clear between the Norwegians (the ones sitting down) and the Swedes:
I'd like to hear some of those jokes some day.
I guess it's time for Finland to set up its own monarchy! From what the same Swede tells me, Western Finns don't look that different from other Nordics; the Eastern ones are a bit different.
