Hi, guys. I was semi-recently video typed as NeTi, via the CT method. (If you look to your left, that's me in the avatar.)
I've read the book (very cool stuff, btw) and determined that I fall into the Dabbling Theorist ("hypotheses, at varying levels of completion, may emerge from this type and continually evolve over time as problems and solutions are reimagined") & the Introverted Extrovert ("despite a psyche that manifests an introverted behavior, the NeTi will always be keenly engaged with some source of abstract stimulation") camps. Definitely not the Comedian variant. I'm only like that when I'm in performance/presentation-mode, because I get so revved up by the energy; one-to-one, I'm pretty laidback.
Interestingly, 'ENTP' was the very first personality test score I ever got (this was many years ago). But after investigating the theory, I ended up considering a plethora of adjacent types (INFP, INTP, ENFP, ENTJ, INTJ, INFJ, ISTP, ISFP), with none of them really making sense. But I have a brain that can easily latch on to one bit and spin around until it finds a perspective that can possibly make it work. Just imagine doing that over and over and over again, and you can see how it doesn't take long to get off-track. I call it "The Sprawl".
So anyway, I finally ponied up the money to be typed by a professional, who told me I was an ENFP. So I sat with that one for a while, but couldn't help noticing that they seem to have strong feelings about a lot of things that actually leave me pretty indifferent. But then I also don't love debate & argument in the way that ENTPs are said to. So I kinda shrugged my shoulders at it all and said "Intuitive Perceiver? Close enough..."
It seems like you guys are on the verge of something, so my interest has been quite piqued. I just watched the Judging/Perceiving video on youtube, and I can see the differences between my boyfriend & myself. He's a definite Je-lead... rigid posture... head shakes... firm opinions... etc. And I see myself in the Perception-lead description. I'm very quick to re-direct my attention and follow it wherever it wants to go. Of course, I've also been diagnosed as ADHD (a diagnosis which I think has questionable validity, but it's useful shorthand to rapidly communicate a set of tendencies to people).
So, yeah, that's about it. Hope you're having a good weekend, and I anticipate devouring any & all information that's forthcoming...
