Auburn, quick question about Fe-8: Is this signal somewhat akin to holding a person in contempt in some manner (and somewhat also akin to a death stare)?
The reason why I ask this is that I know that even as a Te-dom, I feel that I do that pursed lips motion. I'm not sure, however, if the cause is necessarily the same type of contempt as seen here for Fe. I also wonder if when I have the pursed lips, it it more out of being stressed out because of a given situation rather than because of judgement about a given person. Certainly, my Fi/Te can cause me to also have a death stare when I am pissed off at someone, but I am not sure if this is similar to what the Fe signal is conveying. Is there any way that (when you have time) you can elaborate on this 'pursed-lips' signal?
So the signal doesn't refer to the stare itself, but to the muscular tension of the mouth. This can happen with closed eyes, or even disengaged eyes too. And it's not actually really about pursed lips either (I should modify the collage to reflect this better). For example:
^ This is a sort of Fe Upset Tension (+ worried eyes, but that's another matter)
It's possible to display Fe upset with an open mouth.
^ I just happened upon this GIF. Not the best example, but it displays the sort of forward/aggressive element of Fe Upset. Rather than becoming unseelie, Fe users get upset in this way. It's more outward oriented and has a vector/arrow aimed at someone (usually).
So, there's an analagous signal in Te/Fi users that I've seen.. but the Te/Fi version of it always carries that element of disgust alongside it - which is a more repulsion oriented emotion. Fe upset refers to a forward arrow; a directive or shaming/condescending emotional coordination.
ps. reviewing other samples, I do think the 'pursed' aspect is a bit more related to general Judgment, so I'll modify that out of the wording for the sake of greater clarity. I see pursed lips often accompany Te dismissive head shakes/nods/brow-raises, for example. But that wasn't really what this signal was aiming at anyway. Thanks for helping me word this better!
