hmm, sounds like a rather eccentric fellow! How very interesting, I love eccentric characters A lot of what you describe; the childish prankster side, how he got so into his acting, the creative way he dressed, his varied interests, all sound quite like Ne to me. My guess for him would be NeTi, although NeFi is possible too (hard to tell with just still images). NeTi can be very charismatic and charming when Fe is well integrated.


I really like where you're going with this. Essentially, this is the sort of opinion Erifrail and I have formed; cognitive functions are just the architecture by which the larger-scale phenomenon of personality is built. What functions you have does determine some innate characteristics (like a Pe-lead child will tend to be more actively curious, or a Ji-lead more passive and self-kept), but the way in which we conceive of ourselves and the outside world, what interests we develop, our whole emotional 'landscape' (which seems to be what enneagram addresses) is generated when our functional toolset is faced with life experience.

Do you believe the ennatypes to be something innate, or do you think they're a result of nurture? I've heard both perspectives from practitioners, but I'm not sure which makes more sense (it's likely a combination of both, I think, as many seemingly theoretically opposed ideas turn out to be).
