The 6 often correlates with Ni, so it might be your pronounced Ni being its your subtype.
Yes, bellabellas86 I very much agree with you about this. I think that being a strong Ni-based TeNi really does fit that quality of 6 that I exhibit. I'm very much in favor of that interpretation!
I wanted to share some of my thoughts on this NeTi-Ti artist Ryan Mcginness which I find to be a very interesting hybrid of Ne and Ti and also a good sample to analyze when it comes to figuring out the correlation between cognition and enneagram.
So first when it comes to his psychology, here is a quote in which he makes a distinction between drawing and sketching and explains how he differentiates the two, and you can see Ti (and enneagram 5) format of thinking:
"I'm always sketching …and developing these symbols and these drawings by trying to find an underlying geometry, and the source or the idea of the concepts behind these sketches are from a whole range of things… something I dreamed or heard in a song, something I read... the sketch process involves trying to find this underlying geometry. I get a symbol to the point where I have figured it out, they are like visual puzzle and I've solved the puzzle.. I use it a guide to redraw in the computer with vectors, redraw the symbol so that is perfect, the lines are parallel the points are tangent I am searching for one final solution, I am searching for the truth by going this sketch process.. "
Interestingly, he ultimately takes this towards Ne divergence as being the final goal..
"…once I've found that solution…it exists as a digital file and what that means for me is that it can be reproduced and replicated infinitely in any number of ways. One way is having drawings…
He then speaks about all the different forms he uses the drawings.. to create shirts, products, materials, pieces of film etc..
He also speaks of how he juxtaposes all the symbols next to one another in the paintings.. and that "this whole process reflects the way we exist in the world and have all these different ideas jumbling in our mind and we try to make sense of this chaos and that’s essentially what free association or dreams are.. so when we are dreaming all these different symbols come together in a way the paintings are a dreamscape its hard to extract meaning from them taken as a whole just like life."
"We’re all searching the THE truth or a truth whether it be in art science, math.
I love form, I work with mostly pure geometry, meaning rarely will I work with curves that are based on ovals, they are usually arcs, a segment of a pure circle… I work in degrees of 90 or 45…. No one would ever pick up on but I still adhere to a set of underlying rules to myself because I find a kind of truth in those rules and regulations.. now of course I sometimes break my rules too but at least I have something to fight against and appoint of departure.."
"I draw things that fascinate me subject wise.. " (fascination correlates with enneagram 7 sx which is sometimes nicknamed "fascination") _______
So its interesting to see the blend between Ne and Ti in his pscyhology. It seems that despite the high usage of Ti he ultimately "surrenders" psychologically to Ne.
In terms of enneagram I am inclined to see him as a 7 rather than a 5. I doubt he has typical 5ish patters as much as he does 7ish patterns. (also interesting to that 7's intergrate into 5's when healthy). _______
I also find it interesting that you can see this blend he has also in his art, which uses geometry but is ultimately often divergent in shape, wild, and colorful (reminds me a bit of puffs artwork). It's like even with all that high usage of Ti he can't escape his Ne
