As I delve further into the distinctions between the two Je functions, it is clear that they represent two distinct oratory styles. In Fe, it is about a measured capacity to be on point in a way that maximizes the impact/affect towards the recipients. In Te, it is about telling the core facts in a way that focuses on being direct and focused on the facts. (And I admit that Fe can do what I just wrote about Te at times and vice versa, so this delineation only goes so far).
To me, it is clear that both functions when applied properly can make for a very effective and impactful oratory style. In this thread, it would be cool to describe the best of how both Fe and Te articulate in real time with solid examples from both functions, using YouTube examples (using speeches, interviews, etc.). If we can delineate those differences clearly, yet apply mastery in how they both speak their perspectives, I think that this could be a highly informative thread (especially for people learning the general distinctions between the two).
Hey, Mike. Cool topic! Yes, it seems to me that both Je functions are concerned with effective communication but they understand "effective" differently. Te, like Ti, is concerned with non-distortion/accuracy of the truths it is communicating and from the T perspective, affect may involve some distortion or may be unnecessary. Fe is concerned with making sure that the message is accepted by its audience, so the message is "dressed up" to suit human beings or particular human beings, "custom-designed" if you will. That said, I have examples of presentations I found quite attractive though I suspect the speakers may not be Fe (I think they are but I also think they may not be ). Some honest Fi-like presentations seem to me to be very compelling because of the vulnerability of the person. They seem only concerned with authentically expressing emotional truth and not so much to "communicate" like Je.
Primary examples of Fe delivery is Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama. Obama was known for his oration skills and Oprah? Well, I have seen dozens of her public addresses at events and Universities and I have never once not been moved. I don't find the Golden Globes one people are going crazy for that moving in comparison, actually. Oprah's presentation is depth, homeyness, humor, wisdom all in one.
1) Fe- Oprah Winfrey:
2) Brene Brown: What I mean by the ones I am unsure about, though I think it is Fe (FeSi in particular) but it could be well-crafted subordinate Te:
3) Monica Lewinsky: What I mean by a soft, vulnerable, Fi-like presentation, Lots of genuine, deep, naked emotion though I don't know her CT (Still guessing it's an Fi-Te type because of her mouth, but her smiles make me doubt)
Great initial samples Aqua ! I think that when you think of Fe examples, Oprah is right at the top. You can't fail with her! Also, Monica Lewinsky is a TeNi, and she did an awesome job in that video of conveying the intense vulnerability that she experienced. Regarding Brene Brown, I feel like I'm seeing Te (especially in the fast snippy kind of quality that she speaks) but I can't confirm this for sure and would love to get an official confirmation about her.
I found a nice Te one by Tom Hanks (TeSi) that I'd like to add here since you could feel the Te in the way that he speaks here:
If anyone spots some solid examples of either Je function in more videos, let's keep this going!

Here's a presenter I love to watch because I find her so funny without her trying/intending to be so (at least it seems that way): Barbara Sher. I later saw the CTVC signal TE blunt humor and it made sense, lol. Auburn typed her TeSi.
“If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.”
SHE IS AWESOME! Her realistic attitude is so refreshing when it comes to the 'personal development' movement. I agreed with pretty much every word in this video! Te emanates from her very clearly! Outstanding example!!!
(BTW, another person with a highly similar perspective on the matter is Caroline Myss. While I'm not sure if she is Te or Fe [although I give Te the advantage in her case], the similarity to Barbara Sher's viewpoint is very apparent).
