I submitted my Vultology analysis and I clearly came out as SiTe-Si. The corresponding temperament is IST, yet I feel that I only relate well to about half of this.
List of Traits
Reserved
--Usually. I'm rather quiet, self-contained but when I'm in company I'm comfortable with and enjoy I can let loose a bit.
Reflective
--Very much
Contemplative
--Very much. Again the MBTI tests seem to think reflective and contemplative are more in the domain of INxx.
Dislikes crowds or busy places in general
--Generally yes, but my dislike doesn't seem to be as strong as in other people with my same type. If it is an event or place I enjoy I can tune out the crowd and busy-ness to some degree.
Prefers solitary tasks
--Yes
Seeking self-expression
--Somewhat. Sometimes I prefer to just be quiet than express myself but it is critical to me that people will understand and value my self-expression when I do express myself. That people completely accept me for who I am.
Exists in the present
--I feel like I'm more removed from the present, thinking alot about things in the past or anticipating what will happen in the near future. Also I can be so absorbed in what goes on in my own head that I literally don't see what's right in front of me. Perhaps this is why I so often test as intuitive when taking type tests.
Prefers concrete facts and discussions
--I like concrete facts and discussions but I don't necessarily prefer them to the abstract which I am also interested in. I think it depends on the context.
Attuned to the somatic
--Yes, I am well in touch with what I feel in my body
Appreciates sensory detail & nuances
--Yes, but I don't pay attention to everything, just what interests me or what I see as important.
Dislikes poetic & metaphorical speech
--Sometimes, if language is so flowery and figurative that it's hard to discern what it truly means. I like the message to be clear-cut and nonambiguous. I do like creative ways of expression as long as the meaning is clear. This also goes with metaphors, you can have an imaginative metaphor and it's still clear what the intention and meaning behind it is.
Somewhat sensationalist
--If you're going by the dictionary definition of sensationalist as "a person who presents stories in a way that is intended to provoke public interest or excitement, at the expense of accuracy" then no. I want to get people interested in my stories but not if it means compromising accuracy. I'm not good at embellishing or just making things up so I tend to tell them as they are.
Logical / Skeptical
--Yes to logical, sometimes to skeptical. I question the validity of things often but then I can also have a rather gullible streak.
Dispassionate
--I may appear somewhat that way on the outside but on the inside I'm very emotional and passionate. I'm cautious about what I show to people.
Academic
--Yes, I've always had a love of learning and gathering information, often just for its own sake.
Not very affectionate or warm
--It's true that I'm not very physically affectionate to people unless I'm intimate with them, however, I am quite warm with people and I show my affection more through words than physical gestures. Some of this could be my upbringing. I was raised to not be casually touching people or showing alot of physical affection unless its with family members or with close intimates.
Robotic or Stoic
--No to both
Mechanically-minded
--Depends on what you mean here. If you mean it more in the literal sense like interested in fixing physical machines like cars and computers or just how they work, then no. I never really cared that much how they work as long as they do work and serve their purpose. Let someone else do the fixing. I'm not good at the repair and troubleshooting. I tend to panic immediately the moment something goes wrong and if it's something I've haven't encountered before then I really panic. However, I'm 'mechanical' more in the sense of just being being systematic and logical in the way I go about doing things to prevent errors.
Precise in their crafts
--Not sure. Maybe its the word 'crafts' that's throwing me off. I don't really do things that people would consider 'crafts'. I guess you could say I'm precise in my work and the tasks I do take on. Again it depends. Sometimes I want it extremely accurate other times I can sacrifice accuracy a bit for 'good enough'.
Studious & well informed
--Yes, or at least I try to be. Sometimes I do feel like I don't know enough about something which if I consider it important, I try hard to fix that and fill in the knowledge gaps.
