Also concern for having missed rules or etiquette, and humility, which I associate with ISTJ as well. I saw in another thread that there is no 1:1 correlation between ISTJ in Myers-Briggs and SiTe in vultology so in that case, perhaps disregard my typing here, as I equate the two. And, a caveat, I have been typed in vultology as FeSi-Ti whereas I identify as NiTe-Fi so perhaps the fact that I disagree with an expert on the subject matter should give one pause when taking my assessment too seriously. But I thought it can't hurt to at least chime in with my view here, as one more data point to consider. Thanks for posting! Really enjoyed hearing you speak.

My guess would be NiTe-Fi actually. Which is the type I identify as, although, at least in Dave Powers' system, there are 16 variations of the NiTe-Fi (or INTJ jumper as he calls them, because they are jumping past the Te to the Fi). So you and I are most likely different variations of that type, if that typing is in fact accurate.

As for inferior Se and martial arts, I could see how it may be highly rewarding for an Ni dominant type to practice martial arts. The inferior function is always quite profound to us. The dominant function is mundane, old hat. We're used to it. So the Ni of an INTJ is not so profound: yes, I had this realization, it's normal for me to realize things. Whereas, for instance, an ESFP once told me that he had a profound dream, that signified, get this, that dreams themselves are significant—something I've always taken to be self-evident. The ESFP was in his 50s and said his whole life he ignored dreams and thought they were meaningless, and finally this profound dream struck him with the notion that maybe he should be listening to his dreams, that they might actually have something to tell him, or be important. So the inferior Ni of the ESFP will strike them as profound, but be somewhat old hat for the INTJ or INFJ. However, the Se of the INTJ/INFJ will be very profound, and a gateway to the transpersonal. Things like being out in nature, or perhaps martial arts, are imbued with a spiritual profundity. I have encountered this with one INFJ yoga teacher I know, as well as an INFJ who practiced martial arts for many years. In both cases, they describe their practices as highly meaningful to them, full of significance, and there is a theme of imbuing the physical with a transpersonal profundity that is one of the hallmarks of the inferior function.

This is not to glorify the inferior function. Inferior Se is notoriously slow to adapt to changing circumstances, so it may have a difficult time with cathexis/anticathexis, to use the psychoanalytic term—with investing and disinvesting libido, with adapting to new relationships or jobs, places to live, and so on. The inferior Se may take a long time to let go of a relationship (to disinvest or anticathect), and likewise, may take a while to really invest as well. This slow adaptation is also a hallmark of the inferior function for all types. Since Se is about adapting to material circumstances and sense reality as it is, among other things, this slow adjustment to material reality may be another aspect of the inferior Se of the INTJ and INFJ that can be good to know about.
