Hi all,
I have been attempting to type a series of celebrity videos using the list in the 'database' section as a reference point. I took a bunch of random names (without looking at their diagnosed type) and experimented with typing criteria to see if I could get close to the readings already determined by Erifrail, Alerith and et al. Needless to say, up to this point my visual typing skills are somewhat lacking and my success in matching type have been variable at best. I find it very difficult to nail the hierarchy of processes although I have had some success with distinguishing the difference between perception and judgement processes (I know, it's early days though!).
The specific problem I wanted to address came about when I attempted to quantify the amount of eye blinking to aid me in ascertaining the perception process of Ne/Si oscillation. I noticed some possible inconsistencies and mismatches with the recorded types of a couple of celebrities and the visual typing criteria I was using to determine their type. Let me explain;
From the downloadable pdf 'Summary of Basic Aignals/Cues' in the 'database' section It states that Se eyes "do not blink enough for eye lubrication" and conversely Ne eyes "blink more than necessary for eye lubrication" & for Si Eyes there is "excessive blinking while looking forward". However, i've noticed that in the following two videos; Kristen Stewart typed as TiSe shows obvious excessive blinking, which conflicts with the general cue of Se/Ni's that are supposed to exhibit minimal blinking to be conducive with maintaining a sporadic piercing/staring intensity. Conversely, Matthew Lewis typed as SiTe in his video sustains a flow of speech with deflection for several seconds between blinks, which from my understanding contravenes the supposed excessive blinking of an Si/Ne type.
In both videos I analysed a segment of one minute between 0:30 - 1:30 and recorded the amount of blinks.
Matthew Lewis (SiTe) blinked approximately only once every 6 seconds whilst Kristen Stewart (TiSe) blinked over 40+ times in one minute. I may have missed a few of Kristen's as I found it hard to keep up.
During Si's perceiving 'deflection' there is a lack of blinking from Matthew - the opposite should be the case.
Kristen's blinking seems to be spread between articulation and perceiving. Is this just nervousness? For an Se type, blinking should be minimal.
Does the blinking principle exclusively apply to only Si/Ne's 'deflecting' rather than that of judgements 'articulation'? I think I'm being confused by an observance of blinking in articulation rather than just focusing on Ne's deflection.
Is it possible that these two celebrity examples are mistyped or am I falling short in understanding and applying the criteria correctly?
