Hhaha but the unrealistic-ideas of Ne-leads are what makes them charming. I find them funny. xD
It's funny that my SiTe mother is usually very down-to-earth when it comes to sorting out practical things (while I totally suck at it... I am totally impractical when it comes to what has to be done in reality/the real world, like remembering to pay bills, washing the dishes, and all those boring things that 'seem' meaningless etc.) HOWEVER when she is on Ne-mode, which has been quite frequent in the last years, she comes up with the most unrealistic absurd ideas (and sometimes bad ideas, sorry mom uhuh, but sometimes good) and she entertains herself with those Ne-ideas... and even her high-Te isn't enough to show herself how absurd those things are (would never work in reality... And some would be useless) xD on the other hand, my gamma functions make me more realistic when it comes to those things (while I am unpractical abiut things she's super practical and she finds it intriguing the difficulties I have to cope with the part of reality she's at ease with xD). P
Yes I'm curious about all types, but a lot of what you said seems more like it could be a fast/hard working or concentration. How quick is your thinking in the things heron was talking about like forming an opinion or debating ?
I'm thinking NeFi could actually be more in line with the quick witty ENTP stereotype, I personally know one example of someone like that, but I'd need to hear from more of them.
I have always considered my thinking to be incredibly (turtle paced) slow. To build on cjorr's comment about subjective opinions on speed/time passed... Since making and watching the video where my son asked me random questions, I noticed that the time I remembered taking to think of an answer was a lot longer than the time I saw it take on the video. On one occasion, it was the opposite where I was surprised at how long I spent thinking. I suppose it is no different than time warping on you when you are in deep thought and pretty soon 45 minutes have flown by... it goes both ways... time can also go slower in your head than what would be seen in real-time. Even though I experience my thinking as slow, others may experience it quite differently. And yes, it depends on who you compare yourself to. If you want to feel like a fast thinker, simply hang out with people that think slower than you.
When it comes to forming new opinions, I can take a long time. I ask a lot of questions. Go through a fairly long list of scenarios in my head about the pros and cons. If the pros and cons list comes out fairly even, then I'm in big trouble...
When it comes to debate, I consider myself a poor debater. I prefer dialogues over debates any day. Though sometimes I do get riled up and go for the kill. I try not to because I always regret it afterwards.
Recalling information - I can be quick or slow depending on what kind of information I am recalling.
Wittiness - it depends on who I'm with.
I have never thought of myself as anything close to the ENTP stereotype.
edit to add: I don't really like strategy games either. I prefer games that involve more chance than strategy, or go-at-your-own-pace logic puzzles.
Don't give up on your theory yet. I'm neurologically dis-organized (mixed-dominance)according to some experts. My memory retrieval is complicated, which would affect the speed of my thinking.
I'm fastest when I'm putting connections together into a consolidated whole. For example, when I'm doing genealogy research and I find a piece of data, I can quickly think up all of the possibilities for how to interpret that data and what I need to search for next to make better sense of it. I'm very good at figuring out how to make a context for an isolated piece of data. I'm fast at defining, and consolidating things/definitions.
I'm not very good at strategy and logic games, however. My thinking slows down when I play those. And also when I have to emotionally react to something.
I always chalked up my particular style of quick thinking to being a Ti-user...
