I was kind of disappointed when I saw she was mistyped as hell, I like to think socionics has elements which are correct, but I guess it's only slightly better than MBTI in the end.
Well I think it's important to remember that the functions described in CT are different than the ones in socionics. Socionics, I would say, is further away from Jung's work than CT, so it is still different and socionics has different interpretations of the functions. She probably isn't mistyped in the socionics system itself, it's just different and doesn't completely translate to CT. So... The theory of socionics itself may not be wrong, just different than CT. That said, I do think that there are holes and inconsistencies in theories such as socionics, and that CT incorporates many more variables such as development, making it a better theory.
Mmm if you want to, you could say a person is one socionics type and another CT type, but that seems a bit odd. If CT accurately recognizes the functions, then all of socionic's ideas about the function pairs, the quadras, etc must be wrong unless two manifestations of "function pairs" exist in society. They might be describing certain patterns in humans, but not any processes which could be Ti being paired with Fe etc.

Then all they're really doing is just naming it wrong. The functions of socionics seem more like personality traits anyway, in my opinion; which just further proves they're completely separate, to me at least.
Well I'm asserting things in this instance because it strikes me as common sense..
I mean you really think the concept of Te/Fi vs Ti/Fe can have a meaningful existence in two different manifestations of reality? You think someone can both be an FeSi in CT and then be an INTp in socionics, base Ni, role Fi, creative Te etc.?

Yeah, I think that someone can use completely different functions in CT vs. socionics because they're fundamentally so different. The functions someone has in socionics are not necessarily meaningful, and I believe them to be similar to the likes of personality traits, whereas CT actually describes processes that the brain perceives and judges information with. CT is definite and unchanging, but socionics has potential to change because the functions people identify with will change as their personality changes.
An example of what I mean by the functions being different in socionics vs CT: In socionics, Si is being aware of one's own body, literally meaning introverted sensing. In CT we understand Si much differently.
These are good videos to type people. I like the camera showing their torso (therefore, giving us good shots of their posture), then starts to zoom in. And the black and white of the video makes it look so classy. haha
"I will never assert that an individual must be the type I think they are. I am human, I still have subjectivity. I also think it's possible that an individual can be aware if they have been mistyped. Therefore, when it comes down to it, the ultimate decision to accept/reject a typing should come from that person themself. For better or worse, it is ultimately up to them...or some kind of perfect brain scan. haha"

How bout this fellow?
And younger:
Edit: Baah, having doubts. Welles is definitely Gamma, but I feel asleep last night with the sneaking suspicion he might be SeFi (or NiTe, less likely). It was totally a problem. Oh well, prolly shoulda posted this in the Celebs forum. Toothpaste.
