I'm new here and learning to type people for the first time. I am so interested in Mandy Moore's type because people say she is so many things. FiNe, NeFi, FeNi. Watching this interview, I am leaning towards FiNe...but maybe NeFi? Any insights from the forum would be greatly appreciated
"I will never assert that an individual must be the type I think they are. I am human, I still have subjectivity. I also think it's possible that an individual can be aware if they have been mistyped. Therefore, when it comes down to it, the ultimate decision to accept/reject a typing should come from that person themself. For better or worse, it is ultimately up to them...or some kind of perfect brain scan. haha"

Mandy Moore is a Pe-lead, like: very very much all Pe-lead signals are heavily present.
She's probably PeFi. Her P functions are a bit tricky. I need to watch more videos to be sure of her P functions. But I thnk chaoticbrain might be right in saying SeFi.

Looks like I need to practice and learn the nuances a lot more. haha.
I kept seeing her make a pained face like what I thought FiNe users had and so that threw me off. Her eyebrows point down so much. But I guess when I look closely at her eyes, she does have a more alert look to it, which is very Se.
This is a pretty amazing conclusion! I have never heard anyone ever say she was SeFi in any other forum! I really am intrigued by this method!
Please pardon me as I plan to post a lot more on this thread to get finally get my questions answered!
Thanks again!!!
P.S: So the guy who interviewed her in the above video? Is he an Si-user? Because he blinks a lot...And would he have Ne eyes because they look more relaxed and soft...in comparison to Mandy's eyes? Sorry for the questions. I don't really know who this guy is, but it would be nice to see if I am reading correctly...(which I highly doubt right now. lol)

Theres going to be a lot of "N" people who are typed as Se and Si in CT. We don't believe here that the N functions indicate a "depth" or creativity that Se or Si users are incapable of, so it's a bit different that way.
As far the blinking goes, that's not the most reliable signal imo. I never use it atleast.
The "pained expression" can actually occur in anyone with Fi, it's basically just Fi and Pi happening at the same time. In my experience it happens in SeFi the second most often after FiNe.
She does give off a Katie Couric (SiTe) vibe in this video...

Back when we all thought she was SeFi, I made this gif to spot her Fi smile and tension. It seems like her cheeks fill with tension before her teeth show and even after her teeth have disappeared, the tension in her cheeks still remain. Even though she does have a wide smile, I think she has Fi tension? Or does she?
But harman's gifs showing those head nods really do look like what I thought Fe head nods would look like, too.
So SiFe or SiTe...
She might just have such prominent, round cheeks that I am thinking I see Fi tension, when there isn't any.

I think Ti/Fe may be right after all. I have been focusing too much on perception functions lately. Also, I'm starting to think she might be judgment lead after all. I get confused by Fe-leads sometimes. So FeSi.
Here are some GIFs I made.
Fe smile + Ti Neutralizations Fe smile + Ti Neutralizations
Elongated nods + Si Scowl Elongated head shake + Si Scowl + momentum halting

I don't know why, but I often get a feeling of the absolute living shit being confused out of me around visual reading when reading your posts logicfan lol.
Isn't alasq's post up there kind of like impeccable Fi-tension ? I don't know it seems so to me.

Confusion is good. It means you are willing to consider alternatives. If it's any comfort I get confused all the time myself.
I don't think it's Fi-tension. I think Ti/Fe is more consistent with the overall evidence (visual signals). If it was really Fi-tension, then she couldn't suddenly relax her cheeks and have those big Fe smiles (without tension) that I posted in my last post. For Fi users the tension is always on and they can't just drop it.

Wouldn't Fi-tension invalidate Ti-neutralization though and not the other way around ? Fi-tension being much more reliable ?
Also, I'm not sure I see those as wide smiles even, they strike me as quite awkward and snarly.
Though I think I agree, Fe/Ti makes more sense with the general picture here.

No. Itβs the other way around (as long as you correctly identify Ti-neutralization). Mandy Moor just has one of those faces with high cheekbones that can cause someone to look like they have Fi-tension. This is why we always want to see people genuinely smile in their videos if possible. It's a way for us to check if the seeming Fi signals are really a sign of Fi or not. Of course we also look for tension in general, but a proper Fe smile just makes it easier to see.
