Hello all. I'm Tweeter, and I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums.
I've been involved in MBTI for about a year now (A friend of mine who we believe is NiTe), and found it quite the useful tool. Eventually though, I found quite a few flaws. Most of them being outlined already by Erifrail and Alerith, though additionally I really hated the type discrimination present, I.E. somebody labeling their boss as ENTJ and calling all ENTJs jerks as well, considering myself ENTJ, I found quite a bit of annoyance from it. I began to focus more so on functions, attempting to clearly define the difference between Ni and Ne, and finding patterns of what people with an N type did. I could never find anything effective online that used the MBTI subheading (I could never find any copies of Jung's actual work, though I probably did not try hard enough). As such I began looking for alternatives, or additions to MBTI that I could use.
First I had a bit of a stint with Enneagram, I looked at the details of the test itself, and for whatever reason the school of thought seemed quite flawed. I could never put my finger on it, but something about it irritated me. Regardless, I began looking through other sites, and found Socionics. After looking through the theory of Socionics, I found it rife with the same types of problems MBTI had. Eventually a friend of mine (The NiTe) showed me the TeNi analysis video, stating that I had almost all of the same tells outlined in the video. I was immediately intrigued, and looked through every example of the functions and read the information on VR posted on this site. While looking at this information I noticed that while using MBTI standards I had likely failed to accurately type my friends. Many of my closest friends, I realized, actually made more sense to be described as Ni dominant people, furthermore, I seemed to have a bit of an affinity for socializing with people who had the telltale "hypnotic/sleepy" eyes (though that's not to say I don't have other friends, just that I have less problems talking to people who appear to be Ni users). Eventually, after a few months, I created this account to discuss this kind of thing. My friend (the NiTe) moved a while ago, and has been sort of difficult to get into contact with recently (and also is too lazy to actually check this site out).
