Hello. I have been interested in Jung's functions as just a way of internally understanding patterns, kind of like I do naturally. However, if there is any connection to the real world (and not just my own system), I would like the functions to be more clearly defined. I have often thought tht to understand them, "Crap, there is so much information, I would just have to start from ground zero and do my own observations." But it's a bit hard to remove existing paradigms from my mind.
I hesitate to say that the CT method of identifying can work with certainty due to human variability and cultural influences on our expressions. I am wary of externally systematizing a method that may work internally for Erifrail. Even if his conclusions are correct, are the cues from which he draws them wholly explainable? I bring that up because I can often make accurate assessments by feel, but I am not able to teach someone else because my system is abstract, although complete with language like Erifrail's (example: "Fe warming").
All this is not to say that the observations in this series have nothing to do with type. I am just unsure if we are observing patterns of mannerism or patterns of the mind. I have wondered myself. I rarely watch TV (don't have one), but several years ago I saw on one of those crime shows that for creativity, one looks up to one side, and for information recall, one looks to the other side. I wondered if that were true across the board. Before I can recall certain details, I need to look to the creative side to, say, "try on" a few different noses. Then I check back with the memory side to see if the fit is right. Since that show, I have wondered if Jung's functions or other processing variables would affect that one-size-fits-all rule.
Haha! That is a lot of rambling without introducing myself. But now you at least know why I am here.
