This is a forum mini-series aimed to elaborate on some of the quotes found in the CT book.
In the United States, I constantly discover that just about every news broadcast network has one or two Te Lead anchors.
If we consider the pressures involved in such a high-profile position (live television) then it really makes sense why this happens. Fumbling, stuttering and slow pauses would be detrimental, both for the loss of airtime seconds and for a loss of audience attention. And in a free market such as the USA, someone who can be clear, concise, fast, and consistent day by day in their articulation will naturally get the job. By the virtues of Te articulation alone, this would cause a high concentration of news reporters and personalities to be Te types.
Here are some examples we see:
Two Te Leads:
Direct/Blunt and unfiltered Joy Behar
Here are some of the signals we see:
Joy Behar
Savannah Guthrie
In Savannah's left-most thumbnail we see the splitting of the cheeks, which is also visible in Joy's right-most image. Both women have a great deal of accidental snarling and a very taut area all around the mouth. Their articulation is direct, and in Behar's case, also raw.
Behar's replies display "Te Humor" in some of the things she says such as how her favorite thing about hosting the show for 16 years was the hours and the pay. Her jokes express her honest opinions about things, but are funny due to their very objective (sometimes a little materialistic) emphasis - at the discard of other concerns.
Te Lead Woman
Now, in Savannah we see something more "polished" and proper in presentation - albeit still direct, fast and concise. This is what I term the "Executive" subtype for Te types. The thing about being in a position of high popularity as a career (like the news) is that one has to learn to be unoffensive and a bit diplomatic.
The responsibility of needing to manage groups and appearance will prompt some occasion for integration between Te and Fi, at least to a greater degree, as well as learned social protocols. Still, I've especially found this to be the case with Te lead women.
It would seem to me that the additional expectation a culture may have for women to be delicate, proper and sophisticated -- adds an additional layer of pressure which might contribute to Te lead women toning off the edge of Te more frequently.
As a contrast we see males like O'Reily and Trump; Te types that let loose and speak their mind without reservation. But then we also see Rosie O'Donnell and again Joy Behar doing something similar -- so Te women do also speak rawly at times (and we can't forget Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga).
We will commonly find this subtype [TeSi Historian] in politicians, news reporters and lawyers – domains that engage many of the TeSi’s chronological and managerial strengths(...)
