This definitely relates to vultology. From the article: "Prof Digby Tantum, Clinical Professor of Psychotherapy, at the University of Sheffield, believes that language plays only a part in how humans communicate and that actually the brain is working hard to pick up tiny micro-signals that communicate what a person is thinking.
It explains how people often have a ‘gut feeling’ or intuition about a person or situation even if they cannot logically determine why.
And it may be the reason why commuters find it so difficult to maintain eye contact on a busy train. Too many people overload the brain with too much subliminal information. In addition, it may also explain why laughter is infectious."
I am an INTJ and I spot personality type at first glance with I’d say 95% success, the 5% being the extra confusing people, like “Type my beautiful friend” I really wanted to say NiFe-Ti, seems like I was wrong.
Anyways, I can confirm that my abilities come from Intuition, a thought process where I utilize my ability to read between the lines at the hidden meaning behind everything one says. A simple and realistic instance of this thought process would be, “Nate(my name), you’re ugly.” All that would mean to me is that this person values the way they look.
I guess this is the right thread to add that I'm one of those people who can spot pathologies, but I can't always my finger on what lead to the conclusion. Over time, I can usually tell you though. I'm really, really good at knowing random thing about people. And it's not under conscious control, of course.
Studies have shown that identifying what criteria the unconscious uses leading to an intuitive insight is notoriously hard to do. I actually have a suspicion that Ne-Si people are better at that - identifying what they saw that lead to a conclusion. I could be wrong. Se people are also good at that sometimes, but Se-Ni people tend to "just know." The process is different. I'll stop here for now. Hehe.
