Hello,
I have been lurking in these forums for a long time, and I've been meaning to make a video of my own for a while. I first took interest in typology after finding out my Myers-Briggs type, but I have since soured on the MBTI. I am intrigued by Cognitive Type largely because it attempts to provide empirical evidence for the existence of cognitive types. I am unsatisfied with the MBTI and other theories because they tend towards speculation and generally lack evidence for their claims. Furthermore, the claims that they make often lead to stereotypes that are either untrue or only true of some people of a type.
I have been aware of this theory for almost a year, and have been following this forum for the past couple of months. I've been trying to learn and master the visual reading techniques described by the creators of the theory, as well as further my own understanding of the functions. Although I was initially skeptical, I have noticed that most people that I know have patterns of thinking consistent with the function set and hierarchy that I have typed them as having using the VR techniques found on this website. So, tentatively, I have accepted this theory as being valid, although I eagerly await further developments.
Anyway, I figured that it was time that I joined the forum and posted a video. I am very open-minded about being typed because I am aware that type does not determine personality or interests. So, I will likely accept whatever I am typed at, as long as there is somewhat of a consensus. I have my own idea about what type I am, but I am not confident in it (it's changed a few times) and would like to see what Cognitive Type theory says about me.
