Potentially a place for posting Ni mystics you come across?
(of various shades, beta and gamma alike).
Maybe a place to discover correlations and understand their perspectives better? I'll start with one I came across today.
Ni-lead: Eckhart Tolle (NiFe-Ni?)
I've only just been introduced to Eckart Tolle but I noticed immediately that his viewpoint is quite anti-Judgment. That is, it seeks for the cessation of delineation, of 'concept'. The results of the left-brain's (and especially the prefrontal (Fp1) area's) urge to structure, contain/control. He, like many other Ni/Se proponents, advocates 'presence' and the allowance of languageless (anti-semantical(J)) thought or flow.
As he mentions in some videos, the entrance into pure perception and awareness of perception coincides directly with a dissolution of the ego. And that makes sense when you consider the ego is largely a byproduct of delineation. The urge to define oneself (Ji), the world (Je) as well as to control or manipulate that world (Je) is all tied to judgment and its capacity to narrow our concept of reality down. It reduces reality down to lesser conclusions, ignoring much of everything else, and then only consciously managing those conclusions.
I think he is also correct to point out that the US is always depreciating the 'now' and is in a constant/neurotic state of... what amounts to Jness. Largely Te'ness but Jness in general. And this creates an insatiable, never-happy psychology, because if the 'now' is never allowed to be felt and appreciated, all the busywork is heading nowhere. It becomes 'doing' for the sake of doing.
What do you guys think of his perspective?
(And I might not be describing it properly; still learning)
I find I tend not to be able to follow it at this stage in life; feeling like I always need to make conceptual progress and better quantify the world around me (J). <.< But I see a lot of merit in this...
