The Candidates Tournament is running right in this moment (10th - 28th March 2018). It's a tournament of eight of the world's leading chess players and the winner gets to challenge the current world champion of chess. So I thought it would be an appropriate time to try to define the current top chess players. It would also be very interesting to see their types, are there many Ni and Te users or what are good functions to have in chess...
So let's begin with the current world champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway) who is not participating in this tournament:
Some observations from myself: I'm not good in vultology but I think that the Se-4 eye-head parallel motion is seen in here. And to me his smile seems little asymmetric especially around 3'41" in the video, so does that refer to Fi? Though otherwise his mouth seems to be symmetrical when he speaks.
"We all ride upon the waves of life, towards the expanse of death, through the nature of beauty. So ride, ride hard, ride towards death with a victory unconquerable. Lash out away from life as does the wind in a sail. Ride on, ride on, into the ceasing of the darkness! Ride into the shelter, seek justice in the beauty, seek power in the life."
He shrugs shoulders (Te-7) and shakes (Te-5) and nods (Te-6) his head a lot and those seems to be snippy, I think. So I would say he has Te and Fi functions. He also seems to have almost all the time those Si-eyes signals. So my guess is he is SiTe.
Definitely Fi as opposed to Fe. Doesn't seem to be Ti either.

I'd say: Magnus Carlsen: TiSe I agree with the Se-4 eye-head parallel motion ramoy, I had never noticed this signal before. Fe zygomatic smile. I had to check other videos to confirm he looks more like Ji lead, with disengaging eyes and exerted pushes
Alexander Grischuk: NeTi I'd say he's having Pe perks up and bubbling momentum rather than real shoulder shrugs or head shakes. Then Ne eyes toggle, Ti flat cheeks

I'm not sure about those perk ups, I can't see them, but the bubbling momentum really seems to be present. Interesting.
For Shakhriyar Mamedyarov I'd say NiTe I think he is Pi lead due to eye-centricity and eye-drifts And I think he's Ni rather than Si, mainly because I don't find the dulled/confused/concerned Si quality in his eyes, I find he looks more in the distance And I see his smile as Fi, going upwards, with bulging cheeks around the nose
Ni in speech has a distinct, deep rumbling sound sometimes. I'm definitely hearing that here. And he doesn't present Fe. And the way he talks about the game feels very much like a Te way of understanding things.
