ANNOUNCEMENT OF UPCOMING EVENTS
Entering a new year, there will be a lot of new things happening!
I've wanted to finish the Definitive Vultology series before initiating all of these changes all in one go, but I see now that it would be more conducive to the community's growth to not tarry much longer, and instead release the changes that are now ready, and finalize the remaining details as the coming months roll along.
February 1st: The new official Cognitive Type website + platform will be launched. This will include:
- A synthesis of all material presently gathered into a cohesive Wiki, rather than having material spread apart in articles
- A new forum that will be integrated into cognitivetype.com/forums/ that is more feature-rich than this one
- Submissions will finally re-open, with a seamless/user-friendly submission process and immediate checkout.
- Matching/Networking System (think Tinder but for CT, and based on vultology matches. A twin-shades finder)
- and More
WIKI (preview)
The work that has been dedicated to creating the 8 Behavioral profiles, the 5 Metabolism articles, the (soon to be) 4 Energetic Quadrant Profiles, and others -- have been in preparation to launch this wiki which will contain the entirety of the CT theory as it stands in 2019. The information in the Book is now lacking many critical components which haven't been assimilated into the canon, and this will ensure that the information is properly available and explicitly included in the CT model structure:
TYPES (preview)
Having removed the 64 subtypes partially, they will be completely gone from the new refresh, and replaced with pages for the 128 development levels. If you want to look up what an NiFe ll-- is like, then instead of digging it up in an old thread somewhere on the forum, all dev levels will be part of the top menu and be a click away. Each will be it's own dedicated webpage.
VR Team
As of this week, the old vultology team is no more, as everyone's kindof fallen off-course with the new higher resolution standard that is in development. In February, with the initial launch we might see the first reading Quiz emerge, even though not all the dev levels are completed. This will just be for member practice though. The vultology team will be defined quite differently from now on, and scoring high on the Quiz won't necessarily place you in the vr team, as it will shift to a position with greater responsibility. There will be a separate private discussion with each prospective reader detailing finances, reading methodology and etiquette. Readings will be a paid service going forward; one which I do hope is well worth people's investment, and will include a bundle of assets, not just the type and development.
Forums
The new forum will not have a "Type Me" board.
Critically, this is because every member of the board will be typed prior to arriving, since the typing will be tied into the checkout and registration process of purchasing a reading. Purchasing a reading will auto-generate your forum account, and in this sense it will shift more to a membership but with just the upfront cost. Readings turn-around rate is expected to be 72hrs at most, all things going well. Everyone who has been officially typed up to now will get a free pass of course (you made it in time ) , and your account will be made on the backend.
NOTE:
The type tag under the avatar pic will not be editable by the user, but assigned by admins/readers at signup. This is probably the most controversial aspect, because people will naturally want to give themselves the type they want, but I'd like to explain my position and decision. The new forum will be a sort of open project with all clean/confirmed member samples, where we collectively come to define what it means to belong to a given visual profile or subtype. The type will be assigned to you as a kind of objective statement about your vultology only, but what that type means will be something you will get to define as interactions ensue and profiles are fashioned around what is revealed.
But in order for this project to work, and be meaningful, we have to have consistency in typings and make sure everyone is rightly titled, at least according to CT's standards. The typing can, of course, be contested, but on visual grounds, as a matter of technical reading error. The psychological aspect, I hope, will be defined by the members themselves.
I am personally very excited to be part of what I hope is the first really accurate typology community where, all things going well, most everyone is properly typed and conversations can reflect the reality of types as they exist in nature.
Matching / Networking
The last thing I'll reveal is the matching system. If you go to the "Members" tab in the top nav you'll see all members which you can also "Sort By Type"!! And only show a given type. But moreso, if you click the two little rings at the bottom-right corner of a member's title card, you will see a number pop up, which is the "match" value. In the pic below you can see this as 99% and 33%:
This value is calculated by an algorithm backstage that functions off of the 1/1024 resolution of the model, with 100% compatibility being a perfect 1 in 1024 match. Please note, however, that this is not necessarily a measure of romantic compatibility. We do not yet have any literature regarding inter-type relationships. This feature exists as a quick and convenient way for members to see who in the world is more like them by CTβs measurement criteria. As new members come in, and new readings are done, they will all be sorted this way and it'll make it easy for members to find those on the forum who match their unique development.
I will be opening this up to Discord members within this next week, and to everyone by Feb 1st. This proboards forum will still remain open but as an archive with registration closed.
