A scanner that measures facial expressions and corresponding muscles real-time, for training social skills in people with autism. I can imagine something like that would quickly make VR much more objective and measurable. I haven't looked into the availability of the software, it seems like a video camera and a computer is all the hardware that is needed (in the video they seem to just use the webcam of the mac computer).

In it's current form (as it is set up in the video) the program wouldn't be able to tell the different signals apart from each other. But it says on the producers website that you can import prior facial recordings into the software (through manual coding) and recalculate the new expressions. So maybe it could learn to detect some of the basic signals. I see a lot of potential uses for this.
