Hi again,
After you assessed my CT type (TeNi) based on the video that I submitted, I find myself needing to ask a specific question: I am highly curious as to whether one would expect a 1:1 correlation between the Socionics quadra (as defined by the following ALPHA = valued Ne + Ti + Fe + Si, BETA = valued Se + Ti + Fe + Ni GAMMA = valued Se + Fi + Te + Ni, DELTA = valued Ne + Fi + Te + S) and the resultant quadra based on the CT visual reading? (Keep in mind, that Socionics bases a lot of its theoretical material [especially with regards to intertype relationship] on the presence of these four quadra and how one quadra has fundamental shifts from the remaining three).
Another way of asking this is whether or not the definition of the eight cognitive functions are identical in Socionics and CT so that whatever quadra one values in Socionics would perfectly correlate to the type/quadra as determined in CT, or whether it is possible to have a different Socionics type/quadra than the CT type/quadra?
My motivation for asking this question is the fact that all along, I considered myself a very friendly, emotionally open and relaxed (Fe + Si), theoretically speculative (possibility oriented), analytical, academic type of person (Ne +Ti). Based on this, I considered myself aligning with Alpha values. However, after your highly informative and telling analysis of my video in order to make the type determination of TeNi, this automatically shifts me towards the Gamma quadra.
Now this shift could have multiple roots. The first is that perhaps I misinterpreted what each Socionics quadra really represents, and hence while I thought that Alpha should fit me best, perhaps I misinterpreted Alpha (where in fact, Gamma would fit me better). A second explanation is that I was somewhat lacking in self-knowledge, and after a more definitive analysis based on muscle movements and tension (CT), Gamma is actually the better fit. The third explanation is that Socionics actually had it right where Alpha really does fit me better, while my connection to Gamma is a facade. A fourth explanation could be that the eight cognitive functions have slightly different meanings in Socionics than CT that could consequentially shift me from a Socionics NeTi to a CT TeNi.
I have no clue as to which one of these represents the ideal way to interpret my results. I mean, obviously, I think that I personally value Alpha, so I'm sure that this has to carry some substantial weight. On the flip side, you very cogently and apparently identified me as a TeNi, in a manner that is also very impressive and convincing to me (since it describes how I respond [facially] moment-to-moment to various ideas and stimuli).
But getting back to the generalization of it all...Would you tend to expect a solid agreement between a person's Socionics quadra (and all that this represents in terms of intertype relations, etc.) and the CT quadra, or could a deviation creep in that could cause a person to reside in potentially opposing quadras (within these two systems)?
What are your general thoughts about this, and how can I reconcile this so that I have a clearer sense of (my/others) type and quadra in both systems? I'm curious as to your thoughts about this.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Mike
